COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

MENTORSHIP

Phase 1: College and Career Readiness:

​

Beginning with building on the basics, with Career Information Workshops introduces students to college and career information making them aware of the many careers and opportunities available through a broad range of career options. Our organization will provide exposure to the world of work through etiquette, job shadowing, technology workshops, and other hands-on opportunities. Teens also; will learn to create and operate small businesses through Entrepreneurial Clubs.

Adventures in Learning combine stimulating academic and social opportunities in a fun interactive experience by exposing participants to exciting and sophisticated areas of networking, workshops, and recreational activities. as they enjoy fast-paced, challenging opportunities.

​

Expeditions provide youth hand-on experience as they tour local businesses and learn how to operate and maintain a productive business.

Phase 2:  Setting the Stage

​

Teen Etiquette is designed to teach young girls the social etiquette; table manners, social skills, and personal style that inspire self-confidence too help them meet life’s challenges with confidence. Manners for young men teach those social skills and table manners that will turn your lively, rambunctious boy into a gentleman.

​

Workplace Program: Will provide youngsters with closer exposure to the world of work and the skills necessary to succeed in business. As part of the program, students will be paired up with a mentor who will work with them in areas of Marketing, communication, sales, finances, etc. 

​

Outside the Box enables the participating youth to pursue topics of interest through a unique combination of in-depth, challenging academic explorations and social interaction with intellectual peers, mentors, business professionals and entrepreneurs, educators, and prospective role models. They will have to put together a summer business plan under the instruction of a coordinator.

Phase 3:  Ready Teens

​

Ready Teens stepping out of the ordinary and into an exciting career in owning and running a business. With hands-on lecture courses lead by experienced professionals they will be given the skills needed for a successful future in business management. Example “Tour the Soda” a tour around Sarasota finest and areas and tasting of the finest foods.

​

Teen Spirit teambuilding and interaction among peers. Teens will brainstorm together and come up with a community project.  which could include biking, skating, art and crafts, talent shows, and lots more!

 

Phase 4:  Junior Professionals

​

At the end of the eight weeks, our Junior Professional that underwent and completed the training and workshops are evaluated by the camp coordinator on their attendance, work performances, and leadership skills are given a $250 post-service educational stipend that can be used to purchase non-food items or entertainment.

 

The stipend must be used in fulfillment of BSDRT goals and objectives. This is an action-packed summer experience where you will be stretched to learn, grow, and hopefully at the same time, have the best time of your life.

Homework Assistance is offered year-round for all of our students. We have a host of tutors and volunteers that can aid your child in all subject matters.  

In addition to tutoring, we also have dedicated mentors that are eager to see your child succeed.
